Why be exempt from swimming at school when you have your period?

It is well known that sport helps you feel good in your head and your skin.
Menstruation is always experienced by young girls as a time of shame, where they have to hide from others. This is even more true when they are younger. However, playing sports allows you to feel good and have self-confidence. We should have the right to decide whether or not we feel like playing sports during our periods . However, in our lives as women, we are rarely given the choice, and even less so when we have our periods at school.

Remember swimming lessons, when you're embarrassed to give the teacher an excuse note because you're on your period? Those moments of exclusion that make you feel like you're not quite on the same level as the boys.
Even though menstrual swimwear has just arrived on the market, it isn't necessarily suitable for all body types or accessible to everyone. As a result, there aren't many options; you have to opt for a tampon or a cup. As we all know, young people are rarely comfortable enough with their bodies to wear one. Especially since it can be a traumatic experience.
Today, however, many teenage girls report the trauma of this "swimming pool and period" episode, as it is not uncommon for them to be forced to wear internal protection.
There are currently no products adapted to their body shape and their use of swimsuits.
Other than asking their parents for an exemption from swimming or daring to talk to their PE teacher if periods occur at school, there is no suitable solution.
What if, in 2022, we allowed our girls to no longer feel excluded, to no longer have to ask for an exemption, to experience their periods as a natural and embarrassing moment?
